Mareks Mateušs joined the central bank in April 2025 as part of the Macroeconomic Analysis Division within the Monetary Policy Department. Prior to that, he completed an internship in the Research Division of the same department. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Maastricht University in the Netherlands and is currently in the final year of his master's studies in Economics at Stockholm University in Sweden.

His responsibilities include analyzing Latvia’s foreign trade and assessing the country’s competitiveness in international markets.
