Reinis Vecbaštiks started working at the Latvijas Banka in 2022. He previously worked at the Ministry of Economy, where he managed technological innovation projects. He also gained experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked on trade issues involving European Union countries.

He obtained a bachelor's degree in international economics from the University of Latvia. Additionally, he earned a master's degree in international relations and diplomacy from Riga Stradins University.
