Lija has over 10 years of experience in economic analysis and forecasting. Currently, she is focusing on handling international relations issues. She has graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and Aarhus University in Denmark. Lija has worked at Swedbank in Latvia and Sweden, as well as at the Public Utilities Commission. Since 2021, in her capacity as Chief Economist of Latvijas Banka at the Secretariat to the Council & International Relations Division she coordinates cooperation of Latvijas Banka with the Nordic and Baltic countries on the issues related to the International Monetary Fund on a day-to-day basis.
