Andrejs Semjonovs holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration with Research Distinction from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), with major in economics from NHH and specialized minor in finance from Boconni University in Italy. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.

Andrejs Semjonovs started his career at Latvijas Banka in 2020 as a Senior Economist of the Financial Stability Department. His professional duties comprise the assessment of the impact of the real estate sector on the financial stability in Latvia and the analysis of the financial vulnerability of households and businesses. Prior to his employment with Latvijas Banka, Andrejs Semjonovs was employed as an Economist at Swedbank AS and as a Research Analyst at the European Central Bank.
